Changing epidemiology and antimicrobial susceptibility of bloodstream infections at a Vietnamese infectious diseases hospital (2010–2020)

  18 October 2024

The study analyzed bloodstream infection prevalence, antimicrobial resistance, and antibiotic use at a Vietnamese infectious diseases hospital from 2010 to 2020. The top three pathogens, E. coli, K. pneumoniae, and S. aureus, showed increasing prevalence and multidrug resistance. Antibiotic use decreased after an antibiotic control policy, emphasizing the need for enhanced surveillance and antimicrobial stewardship.
